How to Download a YouTube Channel's Profile Picture in HD

Save any channel's logo or profile picture at up to 800×800 using its link, @handle or one of its videos. Includes tips for when you only know the channel name.

On YouTube a channel's profile picture is shown as a small circle, usually no bigger than a thumbnail. But the original image is much larger, up to 800×800 pixels. That's the version you want if you're writing about a channel, building a collaboration graphic, or recovering your own logo after losing the original file.

Our Channel Logo Downloader finds it for you.

Step 1: Find the channel

The tool accepts any of these, so use whichever is easiest:

  • The channel's @handle, such as @examplechannel. You'll find it under the channel name on its page.
  • The channel link, such as youtube.com/@examplechannel or an older youtube.com/channel/UC… address.
  • A link to any of the channel's videos. Handy if you're watching a video and don't want to visit the channel page first.

Step 2: Paste it into the tool

Open the Channel Logo Downloader, paste the handle or link and press Get logo.

You'll see the channel's name (which links to the channel, so you can check it's the right one) and its profile picture in every size YouTube provides.

Step 3: Download the size you need

The sizes are shown largest first:

  • 800×800 is the full original. Use it for anything printed or shown large.
  • 240×240 is good for websites and articles.
  • 88×88 is the small icon size used around YouTube.

Press Download under the size you want. The image saves as a square file; the round shape you see on YouTube is just a mask applied on the page.

Tip: Want it round, like on YouTube? Most design apps (Canva, Figma, PowerPoint, even Google Slides) can crop an image to a circle. Start from the 800×800 version so the edges stay sharp.

When you only know the channel name

Channel names aren't unique, and several channels can share the same one, so the tool needs a handle or a link. The quickest way to get one is to search the name on YouTube, open the right channel, and copy its @handle from under the channel name. Then paste it into the tool.

Using profile pictures responsibly

A channel's profile picture is often its logo and may be a registered trademark. It's fine to download one for reference, to show a channel you're reviewing or recommending, or to recover your own. Don't use someone else's logo in a way that suggests they endorse you, and ask permission for anything commercial.

Common questions

It says the channel wasn't found. Double-check the spelling of the handle. If the channel uses an old custom address (like youtube.com/c/name), try pasting a link to one of its videos instead, which always works.

The image looks blurry. The creator may have uploaded a small picture. YouTube can't make it sharper than the original, so even the 800×800 version will look soft.

Can I get the banner too? Yes. The Channel Banner Downloader works the same way. See our banner guide.
