Random Comment Picker

Running a giveaway? Paste the video link, set your entry rules and draw a fair winner from the comments in one click.

How to use the Random Comment Picker

    1. Copy the link of the video you ran the giveaway on and paste it into the box above.
    2. Press Load comments. Every comment and reply loads automatically so every entry is counted.
    3. Set your rules: type a keyword entrants had to include, limit entries to a date range, and tick Count each person once so nobody wins by commenting more than once.
    4. Press Pick random winner. The winning comment is shown on its own, with a link to it on YouTube so you can reply and announce the result. Press Pick again for a runner-up, or Clear to go back to the list.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I pick a random winner from YouTube comments?

Paste the video's link into the Random Comment Picker and press Load comments. Once every comment has loaded, press Pick random winner and one comment is drawn at random from all the entries that match your rules.

Is the draw really random and fair?

Yes. Every eligible comment has the same chance of being picked. The draw uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so it can't be predicted or nudged towards a particular comment.

Can I stop people entering more than once?

Tick Count each person once before you draw. Each account then gets a single entry, however many comments it left, so flooding the comment section doesn't improve anyone's odds.

Can I only count comments that include a certain word or hashtag?

Yes. Type the word, phrase or hashtag into the search box and only comments containing it are entered into the draw. The count above the list shows how many entries qualify.

Can I ignore comments posted after the giveaway closed?

Set the To date to the day the giveaway ended (and the From date to the day it started) and comments outside that window are left out of the draw.

How do I pick more than one winner?

Press Pick again after the first draw. It never repeats the winner currently on screen, so note each winner down as you go and draw as many as you need.

How many comments can it handle?

It loads every public comment and reply a video has, including videos with tens of thousands of comments. Large comment sections take a little longer to load, and a progress bar shows how far along it is.
